First look is something I capture and plan when couples want to see each other or have their photos before the ceremony. I first met Zoe a couple of years ago at one of my Photography workshops. After that she organized a date for us to make our own terrariums. And then I receive this exciting news that she is happily engaged!

Being an event manager Zoe planned most of the day herself ( a lot of DIY with help from family and friends and a little help from pinterest ). They made the bouquets and boutonnieres themselves the night before the wedding. They put the table arrangements in little juice bottles they collected over a few months and sat them on slices of trees. Zoe bought a font (Salt and Spices Pro from www.myfonts.com) and made the invitations and signage herself. All she wanted was a beautiful relaxing day celebrating
with her dearest family and friends over amazing food, music and the
private estate of her great auntie was perfect for the occasion. We went to check out the location in Mornington prior to the big day. The house was surrounded by a beautiful lake and it did not take long to fall in love with it.

The wedding day was perfect and sunny. They did things a little differently
with having their first look, then photos followed by the ceremony. Zoe’s bridal party was gorgeous, energetic and fun. Dan’s beautiful grandmother read out a poem that she wrote for the couple which was so special and got everyone a little teary.

Zoe looked stunning in her blush lace garden dress and so so happy next to Dan. Zoe got the guys from Burn City Smokers to smoke their own meat on premises and the pulled pork bun was the best one I have ever had ( and it didn’t have Mayo in it wohoo! ). It really created the atmosphere that Zoe & Dan wanted which was to share plates of delicious and rustic food!

Later on Zoe sent me a picture of how the afternoon unfolded with cake,
desserts and people relaxing on picnic rugs by the lake….
I am so happy for this beautiful couple and cant wait to see them again!
